Green Up Greens Bayou Partnership Plans 281 Trees for Jack Drake Park

A message from our valued partners at the Greens Bayou Coalition:

Green Up Greens Bayou is a project planned by Greens Bayou Coalition, working with North Houston District, to plant 85 trees on either side of Greens Bayou from Knobcrest Drive at I-45 to Greens Road at Jack Drake Park. A beautiful, wide hike/bike trail runs along either side of the bayou and is currently unshaded and hot during most of the year. The final goal is to add trees along the trail to Hardy Road – the final count is 281 trees!

Phase One begins at Knobcrest Drive at I-45 and is scheduled for November 7, 2024. Trees will be planted on both sides of Greens Bayou to Greens Road. The trees will add shade, help stop erosion, clean the air, bring birds, wildlife, and new flora to the area, add beauty, and cool the trail for walkers and bikers. Stay tuned!
